In Romans 12:9-21, we see the marks and characteristics of a true follower of Jesus.

Romans 12:9 says, “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.”

As a Christian, love needs to be genuine. Not fake, not a thing we have to do, but really love people. This generation wants something that is real. Real love produces real relationships! We need real love with Jesus and to experience His real love in our lives. Lord, help my love be genuine today!

Another mark of a follower of Jesus is that we abhor, hate, despise, and reject what is evil. Do we hate sin? Do we abhor wickedness in our own life? Do we hate what breaks the heart of God?

Another mark is that we hold fast to what is good! Do we desire the things that are good? What is good? God our Father, every blessing is good: life, breath, family, church, friends. Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father above!

Help me to have these marks in my life today!
