Every one of us has a worldview. What determines your worldview? Do we have a cultural worldview or a Biblical worldview? If we say we believe the Bible, this should determine how we view things happening in this world.
God’s Word tells us many times that Jesus is coming back again. Do we really believe what God’s Word tells us? Our beliefs will determine our behavior. If we believe Jesus would be coming again, what would it change the way we live?
In Revelation 16:15, we read Jesus’ own words: “Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all those who are watching for Me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.”
- Blessed are those who are watching for Me! If we really believe that Jesus could come at any time, then we are watching for Him! We are looking to the Lord as our Savior. This means that I am getting ready to meet the Lord. No one knows when we will meet the Lord, so I would rather be ready today. How do we get ready? We accept Jesus into our lives, and then we start the journey of following Jesus in my personal life. Are you ready?
- Then, we must prepare for eternity! Remember the parable of the 10 virgins? Five were foolish and unprepared; when the Groom came, they were not ready. They allowed their oil to run out, and because of that, they could not enter. Five were wise, prepared, and alert, and when the Groom came, they were ready and prepared and invited in.
Today, if I believe that Jesus is coming again, it should impact how I behave, live, and prepare to see the Lord Jesus!
Lord, help me to live ready to meet You if it were a long time away or today! I want to be ready and prepared!
