In Ecclesiastes 5, King Solomon writes that all the money, possessions, and things we try to accumulate are meaningless without God.
“He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.” Ecclesiastes 5:10
What do we really love in life? If we love money, wealth, possessions, power and the things we can buy with money; we will never be satisfied in life. We may be successful and admired by people, but not satisfied in life.
The problem is not money, because money is not moral or immoral. The problem is what does money, possessions, power do to us. The warning is the love of money! 1 Timothy 6:10; “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.”
What do we really love?
Jesus gave us the commandment about what we should love to be satisfied. Love God and love people!
Lord, help me to love the things that You love!
