Lord, help me to love You and love others by serving them!

In John 21, several of the disciples are fishing and catch nothing all night. Jesus is on the shoreline, yelling out to them and asking? Have you caught any fish? They replied, “No,” and Jesus said, “Cast your nets out on the other side.” So they did and caught a large number of fish. Then Peter said, “It is Jesus, and he jumps in the water and gets back to shore.” After they had eaten breakfast.

While they are with Jesus, “Jesus asks Simon Peter a question three times.” “Peter, do you love me more than anything?” Peter replied, “Lord, you know I love you.” Jesus asks the question two more times, Peter, do you love me?” “Yes, Lord, “You know I love You.” Third time, “Peter, do you love me?” After the third time, Peter was hurt that Jesus kept asking the same question. “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.”

Jesus answered Peter each time: “If you love me, feed my lambs. If you love me, take care of my sheep. If you love me, feed my sheep.” John 21: 15-17

If you are someone, there will be action involved. Love is a verb, not a noun. Love is movement, love is action, love is commitment, love is involvement.

Jesus says to Peter, “If you love me feed my sheep.” “Take care of my sheep.” Minister to others.

The question we need to ask ourselves constantly is: “Do I really love Jesus?” If I love Him, I will love others by ministering to them! By taking care of others who need Jesus! That I will love people the way that Jesus loves me. I will give, I will serve, I will assist, I will pray, I will serve them!

Ministry is an outflow of my life and love for Jesus! If I no longer love Jesus, it will be reflected in how I feed and care for His sheep!

Lord, help me to love You and love others by serving them!
