Lord, help me to make the right decision

Temptation is a battle we will deal with throughout our life journey. Just because we become a follower of Jesus does not stop the temptation from coming at us. As long as we breathe, we will have to fight temptation! But because of Jesus, we now have a choice of what we will do with the temptations of living in this world.

In 1 Corinthians 10 13, Paul wrote, “The temptations in your life differ from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

• When it comes to temptation, there is nothing new. The devil throws the same temptations at every single one of us. No one is exempt from temptation! We need to be prepared before the temptations come at us. Be ready, because they are coming! That is why we must be prepared, aware, and ready for when they come.
• When it comes to temptation, God is faithful! We are not faithful all of the time, but God is and always will be faithful to His Word. Stand on God’s Word and know He is with us and will never leave or forsake us. Stand on God’s Promises and know that God will help us in our time of need and temptation.
• When it comes to temptation, God will show us the way out of temptation. We have a choice regarding temptation: we can run or give in to it. Jesus went through temptation, but He stood on the Word and then obeyed the Word and resisted the temptation. There is always a choice, a decision that we need to make when we are tempted.

Our decisions determine our direction, and the direction will determine our destination! What will be our decision when we face temptation in life?

Lord, help me to make the right decision!
