When you go on a journey, you need to bring the right kind of clothes for the place where you are going. If you go to Alaska or Canada, you will pack different types of clothes than you would if you went to Aruba. So, it would be best to prepare for where you are heading.
In the Spiritual journey, we need to wear the right clothes for the battles that we are facing. Paul writes about this in Ephesians 6:13: “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then, after the battle, you will still be standing firm.”
If we are going to live in victory through the battles, then we need to put ALL the armor on, every single piece, so that we can resist the enemy.” We cannot stand up and win the spiritual battle if we are not completely dressed in the armor of God!
God has provided everything that we need to live a victorious Christian life, but we have a responsibility to prepare every day for the journey of following Jesus. We need to prepare and resist the enemy that is out to steal, kill, and destroy.
Lord, help me to put on every piece of God’s armor today so that no matter what battle I have to fight, I can stand firm and stand up when the battle is over!
