Lord, help me to remember Your Words – “But a person who is forgiven loves little, and a person forgiven of much loves much”

In Luke 7:36-50, we see Jesus at the home of a Pharisee and an immoral woman, who heard that Jesus was there. She knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she began wiping his feet with her hair. She kept kissing his feet and pouring perfume on them.

When the Pharisee sees what is going on, he said to himself, “If this man is a prophet, he would know that she is a sinner.” Jesus says in verse 47-48, “I tell you, her sins – and they are many – have been forgiven, so she has shown much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love. Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven!”

Jesus knew that everything about this woman, just as He knows everything about us. The woman realized she was a sinner and came to Jesus with love, compassion, appreciation, praise, and worship for all that He had done in her life. How do we come to Jesus?

Do we forget all that Jesus has done in our lives? Do we forget that we were sinners, and we begin to drift from loving the Lord with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength? Do we need to come back and pour out our love on Jesus?

Lord, help me to remember Your Words – “But a person who is forgiven loves little, and a person forgiven of much loves much.”

Lord, help me to love You as this woman loves You! You deserve it all, for all that You have done for me!
