God is always calling us to repentance! Repentance is not a one-time thing when we first came to Jesus and asked Him to be our Savior and Lord. Repentance is a daily call for every single one of us!
Repentance is a continual process for those who follow Jesus!

What is repentance? In Amos 5: 14-15; “Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the Lord God of Heaven’s armies will have mercy on the remnant of His people.”

  • Repentance is doing what is good, godly! As followers of Jesus, we are constantly called to do what is good, righteous, and godly. It is a daily choice and spiritual discipline.
  • Repentance is running from evil! Sin is always trying to creep back into our lives, and we can not entertain it, play with sin, but we must run from it. God’s Word tells us, “Flee from the very appearance of evil.”
  • Repentance is realizing we cannot help ourselves, and we need the Lord to be our helper in following Him. We need help from Heaven daily!
  • Repentance is doing what is just, right, and pleasing to our Heavenly Father. Repentance is not doing what the culture says is right, but what God’s Word says is right, good, and godly.
  • Repentance is praying that God will have mercy on unsaved people! Repentance is not about us, but the call to our family, friends, church, and city!

Lord, help me to see the areas of life that You are calling me to repentance!
