In Acts 2:14-36, we see Peter’s message to the crowds, which he concludes by affirming that Jesus is the Lord and Messiah.
Acts 2:37-39 shows us the need for the power of the Gospel. “Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to Peter and to the other apostles, ‘Brothers, what should we do?” The Gospel of Jesus has the power to bring salvation, change, and deliverance to people’s lives.
Then Peter told them what they needed to do. “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is for you, to your children, and to far away (You and me today) – all who have been called by the Lord our God.”
The Gospel is still the answer today: conviction, repentance of sins, a turn to God, and then we receive the forgiveness of sins. Then we need the Gift of the Holy Spirit! It is what we need to do to be saved, delivered, and free to walk as a child of God!
The Gospel will never change, because Jesus will never change! “He is the same yesterday, today and forever.” The Gospel still works today!
Lord, help me to share the Gospel with someone today!
