The journey of faith involves trusting God no matter the circumstances. In Genesis 22, we see God telling Abraham to take his son and offer him as a sacrifice. Abraham takes the journey of faith and trusts that God knows what He is doing.

In verse 9 – Abraham builds the altar, puts the wood where it needs to go, and puts the boy on it.

In verse 10 – Abraham still walks by faith and picks up the knife to kill his son.

But look what happens in Genesis 22: 11-14; “At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” Yes, Abraham replied. “Here I am.” “Don’t lay a hand on the boy,” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now, I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld your son, your only son.” Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of His Son. Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “The Lord will provide.”

How many know that God tests us to see our faith in action? Do we believe what we say we believe? It is easy to have faith, but do we trust that God will always keep His Word and His Promises to us as His children?

Lord, help me to trust and obey in all life situations! You are and always will be trustworthy and faithful!
