In Matthew 8:14-17, Jesus heals people both spiritually and physically. Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law. Then people brought people who were bound by Satan, and those who needed physical healing.
In verse 17: “This fulfilled the Word of the Lord the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.” Jesus not only healed during His earthly ministry, but He is still our healer today! Jesus took our sickness and removed our diseases when He died on the Cross for our sins, sickness, sadness, and for our strength.
That is why, when we take communion, we remind ourselves of what Jesus has accomplished for us spiritually and physically.
Today, if you are sick, come to the One who can remove our diseases. Have faith in Him and begin to speak God’s Word over your condition, and know that we win in the end!
Lord, help me to remember today: “By Your stripes we are healed.” “You sent Your Word and healed me of all my diseases.” Help me to trust You with every area of my life!
