God created us with self-will so that we can make choices in our lives. He did not create us to be robots or AIs. He does not force us to worship Him, serve Him, or accept His Son. He wants a relationship with us because we desire Him and Him alone.
Genesis 2: 15-17 shows us this, even in the Garden of Eden. “The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to TEND and WATCH over it. But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden – except the tree the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”
God created us for a purpose:
God created us to WORSHIP, and God created us to WORK! God told Adam to tend and watch over the garden. God created us in His image to tend to our lives. We are responsible for working and being useful and productive in this world. When we live out God’s purpose in our lives, it includes our participation. We live for God’s Will and purpose in our lives.
God created us to WORSHIP Him! Worship is not music, singing only. But worship is how I live my life in everyday situations. Worship comes down to my daily choices. God told Adam, you can eat of every tree in the garden, but this one tree. And told Him, if you eat of this tree, you will die.
God gives us a choice—will I worship, love, trust, and obey Him? That choice must be made continuously in my life.
God is concerned about my WORSHIP and my WORK! Am I living a life of worship and work (living out God’s purpose in my life)?
Lord, help me to worship and work. Your will is in my life today!
