Lord, help us rely on the power of the Holy Spirit when sharing the Gospel

Today, we live in a culture that knows Google in the blink of an eye. Whatever topic we want to know about, we can get information immediately. So how can we connect and share the Gospel with people today?

Paul tells the Church in Corinth about his message and how to share it with people still today. 1 Corinthians 2: 1-5; “When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided that while I was with you, I would forget everything except JESUS CHRIST, the One who was crucified. I came to you in weakness – timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were VERY PLAIN. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I RELIED ONLY ON THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. I did this so you would NOT TRUST IN HUMAN WISDOM BUT IN THE POWER OF GOD.”

Paul gives us some simple truths about how to share the Gospel today in our culture:

• We need to focus on the major thing – JESUS CHRIST, who came, died on the Cross to forgive us of all our sins. How often do we focus on minor things and not on the Name above every name? Let’s talk about Jesus!
• We need to speak in a way that people understand. People do not care how smart we are, but can we connect with them and share the simplicity of the Gospel? We must remind ourselves that our education, titles, and eloquence will bring people to Jesus.
• We need to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit and not our programs. We need to rely on the Holy Spirit to connect with people where they are in their lives. That is why we need all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
• We need to lead people to trust in the power of God! “The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation.”

Lord, help me to live this out in my life today!
