We may pray, but do we really expect God to answer our prayers? Do we pray with faith that God hears our prayers and answers our prayers? Or do we pray but do not think that God is listening to us?
In Acts 12: 12-17; we see this in real time. The Lord saved Peter from prison, and they went to the home of Mary, the mother of John and Mark, and they were praying there for Peter’s release. Peter knocks at the door, and a servant girl named Rhoda comes to open the door. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, “Peter is standing at the door.”
What were they praying for? For Peter to be released by God! They are praying, and God answers, but what was the reply of the people praying? Acts 12:15; “You’re out of your mind!” they said. When she insisted, they decided, “It must be his angel.”
How many of us are like this when we pray? We pray, but do we expect God to answer our prayers? Do we pray in faith? Lord, build our faith that God is still answering prayers today!
Acts 12:16; “Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking. When they finally opened the door and saw him, they were amazed.”
Lord, help us to be amazed by what the Lord is doing in our lives! We have an amazing partner with the Holy Spirit, and He wants to do amazing things in our lives today!
Prayer works! So let us pray without doubt, because we know that God is always working and God is faithful!
