In Matthew 8: 5-13, we see the miracle of the paralyzed man. But this was not only his miracle, but the miracle of faith by a Roman officer.
This Roman officer was not a follower of Jesus. He comes to Jesus and says My servant is paralyzed and in great pain. Jesus answers him and says, I will go and heal him. But in verse 8, we see the humility of the Roman officer before Jesus. “But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you coming it my home. BUT say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.” That is what faith is all about. Faith is believing that God’s Word is enough! Lord, help us to have faith in Your Word in our personal lives!
In verse 10, “Jesus was so amazed by the confession of faith by this Roman officer. Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel.” Jesus was saying this Roman Officer lived a life of faith more than the religious people. Lord, help us to live a life of faith, not just talk about it. Lord, help us to know Your Word and the power that is in Your Word!
In verse 13, we see the miracle. “Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened. And the young servant was healed that same hour.”
Lord, help us to have faith in the Lord Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Stand in faith on God’s Word today!
