Do we really believe that our prayers make a difference?
Do we realize that our prayers are effective? Do we believe that God not only hears our prayers but also answers our prayers?
In Acts 12, we see the persecution of Christ’s followers. We see that King Herod arrested James, the brother of John, and had him killed. He arrested Peter and put him on trial to execute him.
But in verse 5, “So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.”
The church was praying, not playing! The church was praising, not pouting! The church prayed earnestly for Peter! They really believed that their prayers made a spiritual difference.
Do we really pray and believe that God can and will answer our prayers? Do we believe that the prayers of a righteous person avail much with God?
Lord, help us to make prayer a priority in our personal lives. Prayer is a difference maker, so let’s pray to our Father in Heaven who is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can imagine!
