Luke 15 is the response of Jesus when the religious people were upset that Jesus was spending time with sinners.
Today, we are looking at the second parable: the parable of the lost coin. We read this in Luke 15:8-10.
We see that a woman has ten silver coins and loses one coin. Jesus says that this woman would stop everything, turn on the lights, and clean the house until she found that one lost coin. She will not do anything else until she finds the lost coin.
When she finds the coin, what does she do? She calls her friends, and they come over and celebrate that the woman found the lost coin. They celebrated the coin’s discovery.
Jesus then says in verse 10: “In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.”
Do we even get moved when people get saved? Salvation is the greatest miracle, and we should celebrate it as the woman did, because she was part of it. That is why we need to reach lost people and be a part of the miracle of salvation!
Are you searching for people who are lost? That is why we have been saved: to reach others! Lord, help us to seek and rescue people who need Jesus!
