Lord, help us to share the power of the Gospel with people

We see in Luke 23 the death of Jesus in verses 44-49.

We see that just before Jesus died, it was about noon, and darkness fell across the whole land for 3 hours, until three o’clock. The light from the sun was gone. And suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn down the middle. Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust My Spirit into Your hands.” And with those words, He breathed His last breath.”

Imagine what was going on in those three hours of darkness? Imagine the spiritual battle going on. Imagine what people must have thought? Imagine what was going on in Jesus? But this was all happening because of His love for mankind!

Then the veil, the curtain in the Temple, was ripped open from top to bottom. It was a sign that because of Jesus’ death, every single person will have access to God the Father. Jesus’ death on the Cross gave us access to God!

Jesus said His final words; words of trust, faith, and obedience to His Heavenly Father. “Father, I entrust my spirit to you.”

That is the reason for the death of Jesus on the Cross – You and me, and a world that is lost without Jesus! Lord, help us to share the power of the Gospel with people as we get closer to Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday!
