Lord, help us to SHOUT AND SING OUR PRAISES TO YOU, so that the rocks will not have to do my job!

In Luke 19, we begin to see the final days of Jesus’ life and ministry leading up to His death on the Cross. In verses 28-40, we see His entry into Jerusalem.

We see that Jesus tells them to get a young donkey and bring it to Him, and he rode into Jerusalem. It is what we would know as Palm Sunday, when the crowds on the side of the road would spread their garments on the road ahead of Jesus and begin to shout and sing as they walked with Jesus. They were praising God for all the wonderful miracles that they had seen Jesus do.

They are shouting and singing in verse 38 – “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of elf the Lord. Peace in Heaven, and glory in the highest Heaven.” They were praising Jesus with everything that they had in them. And the Pharisees were telling Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that.”

Jesus responds in verse 40 – “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers.”

Jesus knows that His final journey is beginning, and we see that He was walking in the will of God! How many of us are willing to walk to the Cross? How many of us would make excuses for why we could not take that difficult journey? But Jesus did it for YOU AND ME! Because He knew God’s Will for His life – “To seek and to save the lost.”

But the response of the people should be the same kind of response that we should have for our Lord and Savior. When was the last time we would SHOUT AND SING PRAISE TO OUR LORD?

If we have been saved, we have experienced the greatest miracle, and we should be SHOUTING AND SINGING EVERY PRAISE TO OUR WONDERFUL JESUS!

Lord, help us to SHOUT AND SING OUR PRAISES TO YOU, so that the rocks will not have to do my job!

“I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall be continually on my lips.”
