Paul is closing his first letter to this young pastor, Timothy, to encourage him not to give up on the Journey.
In 1 Timothy 6:11, “But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.”
Paul encouraged Timothy to remember that you are a man of God. We need to remind ourselves that we are a man or woman of God. That changes our perspective on the way that we live our daily lives. Do you see yourself as a man or woman of God? This is not just pastors but every follower of Jesus!
What will a man or woman of God live like:
- We will run from evil, wicked, sinful things. We realize that we desire to be like Jesus!
- We will pursue righteousness and a godly life. We will choose a lifestyle that pleases the Lord!
- We will live by faith and faithfulness in our daily lives!
- We will live a life of love towards God, others, and ourselves! Love makes the journey better!
- We will live a life of perseverance and not quitting on this journey of following Jesus!
- We will live a life of gentleness and not a person of strife, arguing, and fighting.
Lord, I chose to be a man of God; give me the strength to impress You today by following You!
