Happy Resurrection Sunday! Today is a great day as we remember and celebrate the victory over sin, Satan, and self that Jesus took for us on that Resurrection morning! Jesus is alive! That is a game-changer in our lives when we not only talk about His resurrection power, but live daily in the power of the Resurrection!
In John 7, Jesus is telling the people that He is going to die shortly, and the people could not understand what this meant. Jesus is preparing them for what is going to happen when He dies. He will die, be buried, and rise again. Then He will go to Heaven, send the gift of the Holy Spirit, and one day He will return!
In John 7: 37-39 Jesus declares: “Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to Me! Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink. For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living Water will flow from His heart.’ When He said, “living water,” He was speaking of the Holy Spirit who would be given to everyone believing in Him, but the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into HIs glory.”
Resurrection Sunday is not just a ritual, family gathering, and all the other things we do to celebrate. Resurrection is the miracle of Jesus rising from the dead, and because He lives, we can live as well! Think about that statement: “That the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is the same Spirit that lives in us!”
That is a life changer! Lord, I come to You and need the rivers of living water today!
