Lord, I need Your wisdom in my life today

When you go on a new journey, you need wisdom about where you are going and how to be prepared for the destination. You need to know what you can and cannot eat. You need to know the conditions of the place you are going to. You need to know where to go and places to avoid on the journey.

In our spiritual journey, we need wisdom. James gives us advice for the journey.

James 1:5: “IF you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke for asking.”

• “If” – There are some people who are proud or arrogant and think they have all the answers. I know what I am doing! I do not need any input or help. So until I realize that I need wisdom from God, I will never ask. Wisdom is the application of knowledge. Today, it is not a matter of if – it is a matter of realizing that I need God’s wisdom in every area of my life.
• “If you need wisdom…”! No one has all the knowledge and wisdom in this journey called life. The older I become, the more I realize I need God’s wisdom in every decision. Think about how better life would be if I had God’s wisdom when it comes to the issues of life!
• How do we get that wisdom from God? “Ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. That is what prayer is. Asking God for His Wisdom to make the right decisions in our lives. We cannot keep making the same wrong decisions and then ask God to bail us out. God is faithful and will help us, but think about how your life would be if we simply ask God for His Wisdom and direction in our lives.
• God is just waiting for us to ask Him for His guidance, direction, and wisdom in our lives.

Lord, help me to live out Psalm 37: 3-5 in my daily life:

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.”

Lord, I need Your wisdom in my life today!
