Lord, may my life be aligned with Your will for my life

How many people feel about the use of life? What is my purpose? How many of us waste time, opportunities, and hours on things that will not matter a year from now, never mind for eternity? We need to stop wasting the opportunities that the Lord gives to us.

Paul writes to the Corinthian Christians in 1 Corinthians 15:58; “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”

In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul teaches life, death, and eternity. He teaches about heaven and what happens to the followers of Jesus.

In the last verse of this chapter, he speaks about what we are doing with our lives. If we were to count the hours, we waste every day on things that do not matter. Think about all the time we waste on social media, entertainment, talking about unimportant items, and we get to the end of the day; what did we accomplish?

Paul gives us these instructions:

  • Be strong and immovable – from God’s call and purpose for our lives! If you do not want to waste your life, we must “Love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, soul and strength. And love people.” Be strong, and do not let anything move you from what God has called and commanded you to do. This will take discipline and time management if we live life to the fullest.
  • Be enthusiastic about whatever you do for the Lord! This speaks to the attitude of why we do what God has called us to do. Lord, help me be enthusiastic about worship, prayer, reading God’s Word, marriage, family, ministry, giving, and serving! Life is about our attitude and our response! Lord, help me never lose the Lord’s joy in my life!
  • Be mindful that nothing we do for the Lord is useless and meaningless. “Whether we eat or drink, do it all for the glory of God.”
We never waste a day when we realize that whatever we do for the Lord is meaningful!

Lord, remind me of these things when I feel that I am just wasting time and wasting life! Lord, may my life be aligned with Your will for my life!
