Jesus wants us to know that we do not stay connected to Him simply by talking the talk, saying the right words, or doing things for Him. We stay connected to Him by walking in the Spirit in our daily lives.
John 15:5 clearly tells us, “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.”
What a powerful verse that shows us what the Holy Spirit wants to do in and through our lives.
* I must stay connected to Jesus, and Jesus will stay connected to us through the Holy Spirit. My responsibility is simply staying in a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
* If I stay connected to Jesus, then the Holy Spirit will produce spiritual fruit in our lives! Galatians 5:22-23; “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things.”
I need to examine my own life to see if the Holy Spirit is producing any fruit or godly results.
* If I am not reproducing the fruit of the Spirit in my life, it is a warning sign of not remaining in Him. “For apart from Me you can do nothing.” Think about that today? We are not to judge others, but can we be fruit inspectors? What kind of fruit is growing in our lives?
Lord, today, fill me with Your Spirit so that I can walk the walk and talk the talk! Produce Your fruit in my life today!
