Romans 12: 15-16 gives us some characteristics that we need to allow the Holy Spirit to develop in our daily lives. “Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Do not be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all.”

We cannot manufacture these marks or characteristics, but they are an outflow of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. We need to activate His Presence in our lives if we want to look, act, and be a follower of Jesus.

* Be sensitive to people. We should be happy with people who are going through happy times in life. Instead of being jealous of them, we should be able to be happy for the blessings that they are experiencing in their lives. But we should also weep with those who weep. Life is about ups and downs, and we need to be with people when they are up and when they are down. Lord, help me to be sensitive to what people are going through in their lives.

* Live in harmony with people! We need the Holy Spirit to live in harmony with people. Just think about marriage and family; we need harmony with people, but this can only come as we are in harmony with the Lord. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to live in harmony, especially with people who do not want to live in harmony. Lord, help us to do our part in walking in harmony with people today!

* Love being with ordinary people! How many people want to be in the in crowd! Why not open your lives to all people, no matter their title, power, or fame, and enjoy the company of people that God brings into your life today!

* Never stop learning and growing! Because no one knows it all! We can learn and grow in life! Help us to continue to want to learn and grow no matter what our age may be. Keep growing and learning to walk with the Lord and His Word!

I need the Holy Spirit to help me today to apply these Biblical principles to my daily life!
