JERSEY CITY (March 11) — Mayor Jeremiah T. Healy and his slate of nine City Council candidates filed their petitions to run in the May Municipal Elections on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, with City Clerk Robert Byrne.

Team Healy collected a total of 16,567 verified, eligible signatures for the May municipal election.  Healy nearly tripled the required signatures needed to get on the ballot.

“While we were out collecting signatures, we heard over and over from residents that they understand that change does not come easily nor does it happen overnight, but everyday they are seeing changes made by this administration,” he said.
