Pacquiao Son’s Wish: “Beat Mayweather” Before He Retires

CHICAGO (jGLi) – As a lucky charm for Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, Jimmy Kimmel Live! On ABC is a must in Manny’s to-do list before a boxing bout. Since appearing in the popular talk show, Manny has not lost a bout.

On Thursday night (May 24), the eight-division Filipino boxing champion was back in the late night comedy show for the sixth time to plug his upcoming bout with undefeated light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 9.

The Filipino southpaw confirmed that he is fed up with drinking, cockfighting, gambling, women but not smoking because he never smoked. He observed that his entourage has also warmed up to his new way of life.

The change in his lifestyle came handy when he started “following the Commandments of God,” the Filipino Congressman said.  He clarified that while he is against legalizing same-sex marriage he is not against gays.

When asked why he is hosting a game show, “Manny Many Prizes,” in the Philippines when he is a Congressman, Pacquiao said he only wants to “bring happiness to the people.”

When asked by Kimmel if his bout with American boxing champion Floyd Mayweather will still happen, Manny smiled, saying it is one of the wishes of his 10-year-old son “to beat Mayweather” before he retires.

When Kimmel offered to make the super bout happen, Manny agreed. Kimmel said he is going to invite Manny and Mayweather together in his show so both of them would come to an agreement. (lariosa_jos@sbcglobal.net)
