People are in the storm, and Jesus is calling, but we must invite Him into our lives

In John 6: 16-21; we see that the disciples are waiting for Jesus at the shoreline. But as the darkness began to come, they got into the boat to cross the lake. They had rowed about 3-4 miles, and all of a sudden, a storm came up, and the wind and waves were overwhelming.

It is the way it is in our lives that we never know when we will be confronted with a storm. We are just living, and in a moment, we face a raging storm. The disciples were in the middle of the lake. There was nothing that they could do; it was an impossible situation. We will face those impossible situations in life when there is nothing we can do.

The disciples were terrified, and there will be times in life when we are too, unsure what to do!

In that impossible situation, they saw Jesus walking on the water. Jesus called out to them and said, “Do not be afraid. I am here.” Verse 21 tells us: “Then they were eager to let Him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination.”

*Jesus is present for you and me in our impossible situations. We may not see Him, we may not feel Him, we may be fearful and afraid, but Jesus is with you today. “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

*Jesus is calling out to you and me in those impossible situations. But we need to hear His voice in the storms of life. “My sheep know my voice and follow after me.”

*Jesus wants to come into our situation, but we must invite Him in just like the disciples let Jesus into the boat. Do we want Jesus to come into our storms, situations, and the difficult seasons of life?

*Jesus will bring us to the right destination! We want Jesus to stop the storms, but maybe God is using them to lead us to the right destination in our lives!

As we celebrate Good Friday today, we think about the Cross! Jesus came from Heaven to Earth to die on the Cross for us. Jesus calls out to us, and we must be the ones who ask for Jesus to come into our hearts and lives! And then we follow Jesus to where He wants us to go!

Invite someone to church this weekend! People are in the storm, and Jesus is calling, but we must invite Him into our lives. People need Jesus!
