MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Airlines (PAL) has unveiled a new round of promotional fares for its flagship trans-Pacific route between Manila and Los Angeles, offering round-trip economy tickets starting at just USD 477 all-in. The announcement comes as the flag carrier prepares to expand its U.S. operations with additional flights beginning mid-2026.

The discounted fares, available for select travel dates from late 2025 through September 2026, mark one of PAL’s most aggressive pricing strategies in recent years. The airline confirmed that the promotional tickets include all taxes and surcharges, though passengers must still pay the Philippine Travel Tax separately. Standard economy fares on the route typically range from USD 700 to USD 900, making the current offer a significant savings for travelers.

PAL’s busiest routes
The Manila–Los Angeles service is among PAL’s busiest long-haul routes, catering to a large Filipino-American community in Southern California. Los Angeles is home to nearly half a million residents of Filipino descent, and the nonstop flights have long been a lifeline for families, business travelers, and balikbayans seeking direct connections between the Philippines and the United States.

In addition to the fare promotion, PAL announced that it will increase service frequency from 14 to 18 flights weekly starting June 1, 2026. The expanded schedule will feature three daily departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, operated by Boeing 777 aircraft. The move underscores PAL’s commitment to strengthening its U.S. footprint amid rising demand for trans-Pacific travel.

PAL Highlights Its Partnership
This expansion reflects our dedication to serving the Filipino diaspora and enhancing connectivity between the Philippines and North America,” PAL said in a statement. “With more flights and competitive fares, we are making it easier for families to reunite, businesses to thrive, and tourism to grow.”

The airline also highlighted its partnership with Southwest Airlines, which allows passengers to book single-ticket journeys connecting through Los Angeles and other U.S. gateways. This collaboration is expected to streamline travel for passengers heading to destinations across the continental United States.

Book Your Trip Early
Industry analysts note that PAL’s fare cuts and expanded schedule come amid heightened competition in the trans-Pacific market. U.S. carriers such as Delta and United continue to operate direct flights from Manila to major hubs. At the same time, Asian rivals, including EVA Air and Cathay Pacific, offer competitive one-stop options. PAL’s strategy appears aimed at reinforcing its position as the premier choice for nonstop travel between the Philippines and the U.S. West Coast.

Travel experts advise passengers to book early, as promotional fares are limited and subject to availability. The lowest fares are typically found during off-peak months, while holiday and summer travel periods remain more expensive.

For Filipino-Americans planning visits home, students traveling abroad, or tourists eager to explore Los Angeles, PAL’s latest offer represents both affordability and convenience. With expanded service on the horizon, the airline is positioning itself as a stronger bridge between the Philippines and its largest overseas community.
