CHICAGO (JGL) – President Noynoy Aquino is attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York, New York from September 20-23, 2014, according to an internal message circulating among members of U.S. Pinoys for Good Governance (USP4GG).

The President will also make a homecoming to Boston, Massachusetts, where his family resided for three years after his father, Sen. Benigno Aquino, Jr. was permitted by President Marcos to travel for medical treatment following a heart attack. Senator Aquino, however, was assassinated at the Manila International Airport when he returned in 1983.

According to the USP4GG, the President will head to Boston first before proceeding to the UN General assembly meeting.

This will be the second time that Mr. Aquino will be attending the UN meeting. He first attended this UN meeting from Sept. 20-26, 2010, a few months after his election. He also visited the Silicon Valley in San Francisco, California Bay Area on his way home during this trip.

This will be his fifth trip to the U.S. His second trip was on Sept. 18-23, 2011 during his working visit to New York and Washington, D.C. The third one was his trip to Hawaii on Nov. 11-12, 2011 for the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Conference). His fourth and last visit was from June 6-20, 2012 when he visited President Obama in the White House.

USP4GG is headed by Filipino American civic leader Loida Nicolas Lewis.
