HERZLIYA (June 10) – In an International Festival at the Interdisciplinary College (IDC) held in this city on Monday, June 8, Philippine products turned out the top seller. The Philippines was among the 20 participating countries in the festival aimed at providing foreign students at IDC the opportunity to showcase food items, drinks and crafts.
Philippine Ambassador to Israel Petronila P. Garcia, Vice Consul Bertrand Theodor L. Santos and Alvin L. Conchas III were among the Embassy officials who went to Herzliya to provide moral support to Filipino students and their Israeli friends who were manning the Philippine booth.
The booth also distributed tourism brochures aside from selling San Miguel products and Filipino snack items.
The highlight of the participation was a demonstration of arnis by Master (Guro) Jon Escudero and IDC student Angelo Victor Garcia. To the delight of the students, the duo demonstrated the graceful but deadly moves and techniques of the Filipino martial art.
