NEW YORK – When did you last watch a free movie to learn more about the lives of heroes who played a role in the Philippine Revolution? Well, if you haven’t, don’t let August slip by. The Philippine Consulate’s annual program – the Sinehan sa Konsulado (SSK)- invites everyone to watch four movies from April 27 to 29 at 6 p.m.
Instead of the Philippine Consulate on 5th Avenue, the venue will be the New York University, King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center (KJCC) at 53 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012. The movies to be screened are:
Day 1 (August 27): José Rizal (Digitally restored and remastered)
Note: This screening has already reached maximum capacity. Additional seats will not be guaranteed.
Day 2 (August 28): The Atom Araullo Specials: Pag-Asa
Day 3 (August 29): I-Witness: Ang Huling Katipunero – Macario Sakay by Howie Severino and I-Witness Hanabing Pag-asa by Kara David.
This free screening is in partnership with Sulo: The Philippine Studies Initiative at NYU, GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, GMA News TV, and the various chapters of the Knights of Rizal in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut for the film José Rizal.
