Being a follower of Jesus is not just a label, a title, a family tradition, or a religious affiliation, but it is a decision to make Jesus your Savior and Lord. This changes the destiny of our lives now and for all eternity. We now have a relationship with God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. What a miracle salvation brings into our lives.
Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you at a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”
This spiritual journey is not just going through rituals and motions but a new life, way of thinking, believing and living. I accept Christ, surrender my life to Christ, and the Holy Spirit comes to live inside me. This changes everything!
Think about how the Holy Spirit lives in us; that is how we change because of His presence in our lives. When you accept Christ, everything changes! Everything changes for the better because I now follow Jesus!
Today, are we really following Jesus? It is not wearing a T-shirt or going to church only. Still, I have the Holy Spirit living in me – to empower me to live differently, encourage me when I am down, instruct me when I need the wisdom to make a decision, to be more like Jesus in my marriage and family, to want to reach people that need Jesus!
Today, realize that as a follower of Jesus – the Holy Spirit lives in you every moment of the day! What a miracle! You are a walking miracle today!
