Luke 1: 37-38; “For the Word of the Lord will never fail. Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And the angel left her.
In Luke 1: 26-38, we see a young teenage woman’s journey to be the mother of Jesus. In these verses, we see that she found favor with God! Think about that moment and the journey that her life would take her.
Why did Mary find favor with God? Do we find favor with God? We find favor with God when we walk in a relationship with Him and place Him as the first priority in our lives. Matthew 6:33 tells us: “Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these other things shall be added unto you.” If you want the blessing of God in your life, you need to find favor with God. Lord, help me love You and serve You so I will live with Your favor over my life.
The angel tells Mary what her journey is going to be like. That she was going to be the mother of Jesus. Mark asks, “How can this be because I am a virgin? The Holy Spirit would come on her, and she would conceive and give birth to the Messiah. Her journey was changing, and how would she respond to God’s will?
The angel tells her (and us), “For the Word of God will never fail.” If we want God’s blessing on our journey, then we need to know His Word will never fail. The Word of God is our anchor, hope, and strength throughout life’s journey! We need to know God to trust God! Our God is faithful and will always keep His Word!
How did Mary respond? How should we respond? “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.”
Lord, I pray that I will respond like Mary and always remember that I am Your servant and that Your Will will always be done in my life! Lord, not my will be Your will be done in my life today!
