Are we really “All In” as followers of Christ? Do we really understand or desire to commit to being a follower of Jesus?

Over the last ten days, I have been in numerous churches in Africa. I see the sacrifices and commitment that people make to follow Jesus. They will walk to church; the services are many hours long, with heartfelt worship and prayer in buildings that many of us would complain about in America. Then walk home in extreme heat.

In America, we tend to be very casual and comfortable in following Jesus.

But listen to what Jesus says in Mark 4:34-35: “And calling the crowd to Him with His disciples, he said to them, ‘If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up His Cross and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the Gospel’s will save it!”

Today, help me choose to take up the cross and follow Jesus!
