In Mark 7: 24-30, we see the miracle of healing/ deliverance of a Gentile mother’s daughter. This mother was not a follower of Jesus, but was desperate because of her love for her daughter.
She falls before Jesus and begs Jesus to touch her daughter. But how did Jesus respond to this mom?
Mark 7:27; “And He said to her, ‘Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” Jesus was saying why should the Lord touch you when you are not Jewish? Are you not a religious person? How many of us feel that God will not accept us? But the Lord says, “I came to seek and to save sinners.”
But the woman was not discouraged or disappointed, but remained steadfast and desperate in verse 28; “But she answered Him, ‘Yes, Lord; yet even dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
Was Jesus testing her faith and commitment to Jesus? So in verses 29-30, Jesus commends her faith and tells her that her daughter was healed or delivered! And when she got home, the girl was healed!
Today, help me to be desperate and committed to Jesus, until His will is done in my life!
