Today, help me to plow up my heart, sow the seeds of righteousness, and allow You to shower me with all of Your Presence in my life!

In the Bible, we read many instances where the Biblical principle of sowing and reaping is evident, reflecting the cultural context of the day. Many people understood because they were people of the land. This remains a biblical principle that we should apply to our lives in 2025.

Hosea 10: 12-13; “Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that He may come and shower righteousness upon you. But you have cultivated wickedness and harvested a thriving crop of sins.”

We see that the principle of what we sow is what we reap in all areas of our lives.

  • Sowing – planting the seed! The problem is what kind of seeds are we sowing in our lives? Are we sowing the seeds of righteousness – godly, things that come from the Spirit, Word of God, or are we sowing the seeds of the flesh, world, sinful desires? I am responsible for the seeds I sow in my life, in my family, in my heart, and in my mind. I cannot sow the wrong seed and expect that I am going to reap a godly harvest! “Plant the good seeds of righteousness and you will harvest a crop of love.”
  • Plowing – Before you sow the seed, you need to plow up the ground so that the seed can be planted in it. We need to plow up our hearts. Has our heart become hardened by life, people, situations, trials, and problems of life? Nothing is going to be able to grow in us if we allow our hearts to become hardened with bitterness, hatred, and an unforgiving spirit. “Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord.”
  • Reaping – in another season, we will reap what we have sown. We need the presence of the Lord in our lives to reap the blessings of God. The showers of His presence are what cause the spiritual growth in our own lives. We need His presence to see the harvest!

Today, help me to plow up my heart, to sow the seeds of righteousness, and to allow You to shower me with all of Your Presence in my life!
