I am so thankful that we can have a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ and that I know the Lord, who helps me walk this life journey.

In Psalm 120:1, we see a short verse that will help us daily as followers of Jesus: “I took my troubles to the Lord, I cried out to Him, and He answered my prayers.”

How straightforward this relationship with the Lord is:

  • Troubles – every single person has troubles every day. Some days are better than others, and some days we do not know how to make it through. But what am I going to do with my troubles? Am I going to curse, rehearse, or even try to reverse them? But that will not help us to get through the troubles. The Psalmist says – “I took my troubles to the Lord.” Will we complain about our troubles or bring them to the Lord? Will we try to fix our troubles or get them to the One who can do something about them?
  • I CRIED out to the Lord! Who are we crying to when we go through troubles? Our spouse, our parents, our friends, Facebook? Why do we cry out to the Lord? When we cry, we let it go! When we cry, we release the troubles, the pain, and the emotions of what we are going through. Growing up in the church, we used to call this “Praying Through.” You pray until the answer comes! You pray until the Lord ministers to you!
  • The Lord ANSWERS my prayer! When I do my part, God will do His part! This does not mean that God will always give me what I have been praying for, but He will answer and give me wisdom and direction, reveal His will, and even provide everything I need for the trouble I am going through!

Today, I am thankful for our relationship with Jesus! I need to remember that no one cares for me like Jesus! “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you!”
