Today is the day of Salvation: Do not put that decision off

“This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than we first believed.” Romans 13:11

When we look at everything going on in our world, nation, city, and our families, we need to realize that things cannot continue this way. As followers of Jesus, the Bible tells us that Jesus is coming again! I know that this sounds wild to people that do follow Jesus. But it does not change what the Bible says, that Jesus is coming again and that there will be a judgment for everyone to see if we have accepted Christ.

This is not the time to become complacent, lazy, or lukewarm in our spiritual journey. We must be focused on following Jesus for ourselves, and then we need to be focused on reaching as many people as possible and inviting them to follow Jesus personally.

In Romans 13, we read the words: urgent, late, time is running out, and wake up because no one is guaranteed another day. As the church, we must realize that this message is for every follower.

Today, help me to realize that time is running out and that I must wake up and reach as many people as possible who need to follow Jesus.

If you have never accepted Jesus into your life, why not stop asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to become a follower of Jesus? God’s Word tells us: “Today is the day of salvation.” Do not put that decision off because no one knows if we will have another opportunity!
