Temptation is a part of life, and no matter how long we have been followers of Jesus, we are not exempt from temptation. Hopefully, the longer we serve Jesus, the more able we are to resist temptation and not give in to sin.
Paul wrote to the church with this warning about temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13; “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is FAITHFUL. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will SHOW YOU THE WAY OUT SO THAT YOU CAN ENDURE.”
When temptations come at us, we need to realize that this is common to every single person as long as we live. No one is exempt!
But because God is faithful! God is faithful to us! God will be faithful to us. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and God will not allow you to go through something that He will not empower and equip us so that we can get out of the temptation. When you face temptation, He will show you the WAY OUT OF THE TEMPTATION, so that you can endure it.
If God is going to show us the way out, we need to watch and follow Him when we are being tempted. I need to keep my eyes on Jesus, and then the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. Are we keeping our eyes on Jesus, because He will show us the way out of temptation!
Today, keep your eyes on Jesus, and you will not become a victim of temptation, but be a victor because of Jesus Christ! Lord, help me to keep my eyes on You today!
