In Exodus 13, the children of God leave Egypt, and now they are free. Can you imagine what those feelings were like for enslaved people who have now been set free?

This Fourth of July reminds us of the freedom we have in America. We can still share the Gospel, carry our Bibles, gather in church, and worship God. We cannot take this freedom for granted.

As believers, we know what freedom is because Jesus has set us free from sin, Satan, and self. “He that the Son has set free is free indeed.

But freedom has a price. We must continue to pursue freedom because attempts will be made to take it away.

Exodus 3:17 tells us: “God did not lead the people by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near.
God said, “Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.”

How many of us have accepted Christ but, because of our culture, friends, family, and circumstances, have returned to the world? Are we no longer following Jesus because of issues?

Jesus set us free, but we have gone back to Egypt, the place of slavery. Why?

Today, let us walk in the freedom that Jesus has given to us!
