Our decisions will determine our direction, and direction will determine our destination! Everyone must realize this is how simple life’s journey is. My daily choices will determine my direction, and my direction will determine where my destination will be.
James tells us this in James 4:17: “Remember, it is a sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” As followers of Jesus, we spend time being with Jesus, and we should be spending time reading and studying the Word of God. Once I know what God’s Word says, it comes down to my decision to follow. Am I going to listen and do what God’s Word tells me to do, or will I decide not to do what God tells me to do?
God’s Word clearly tells me: “It is a sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” God will not change His mind because I disagree with Him! God is not going to say one thing and then do something else! God gives us clear instructions, but then it is up to me to decide what I will do.
Today, Lord, empower me to know Your Word and obey what you tell me to do! A pastor friend, Rod Loy, said: “Delayed obedience is disobedience.” So that means when I know that God is asking me to do it, We must immediately obey God if we want to go in the right direction!
