How many of us need direction and strength in life? We need to know the direction we need to go in, and we need the strength to take that journey. The Holy Spirit was given to followers of Jesus for direction in life and the strength to do what God has asked us to do.
Acts 2:28 – “You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of Your presence.”
* We need to ask the Lord to show us the way of life! But we need to be open and willing to obey what the Lord shows us to do. We cannot just pray and then do our own thing! We cannot pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us, and then not do what He shows us to do. Lord, give me Your Holy Spirit to guide me in all of my ways. Proverbs 3: 5-6; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Lord, give me your guidance today!
* We need to ask the Lord to fill me with the joy of His presence.
Lord, we need the presence of the Lord, and when we are filled with His presence, we will know real joy! Life is hard; life can be a struggle; life can be unfair; life can happen, but what we need is the joy of His presence.
In a car, you need a shock absorber to help you not feel the bumps of the road. The Holy Spirit is our shock absorber, so that when life happens, we have His presence to help us through the bumps.
Psalm 16:11 – “You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”
Today, Lord, fill me with Your Spirit so that I will have guidance and I will have the joy of Your Presence!
