Paul gives some very practical advice to Timothy to teach to followers of Jesus. This still includes us today.
“Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so u reliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.” 1 Timothy 6:17
Lessons for followers of Jesus:
- Do not be proud because we have material wealth, money, and possessions. Pride says I do not need God; look at my actions. Pride is EGO! Edging God Out! Are we edging God out of our lives?
- Do not trust your stuff, but trust in the Savior! Our stuff is unreliable! It breaks, it leaves, it becomes outdated.
- We need to trust in God in every area of our lives. Because if we follow Jesus, He will supply our every need!
Today, Lord, help me not to Edge God Out of my life!
