Today, Lord, help me talk about love and act in love because love is a verb

by Ron Squibb

If we will follow Jesus, then we need to follow His ways. We all are in the process of becoming more like Him. We never stop the journey of becoming more like Jesus.

Here is where we fall short of following Jesus: 1 John 3:16-18; “By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”

It is easy to say that we love these words, but as one of our leaders at ICC says, “Love is a verb.” Love is action; love is doing something.”

What would happen if followers of Jesus would start acting in love? What would happen in our marriages and families? What would happen in our church, city, and country?

Today, help me talk about love and act in love because love is a verb.
