Today, we need to be the Light of Jesus in our homes, church, and city! Lord, I’m gonna let my light shine for Jesus!

Growing up in church, we learned a song in children’s ministries that said, “This little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine.” It is what Jesus was saying in Luke 8: 16-17; “No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. For that which is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to the light and made known to all.”

What is the purpose of light? To reveal, to show, to enlighten, and push out the darkness. What is the purpose of our lives as followers of Jesus? To reveal Jesus, to show off Jesus, to enlighten others, and push out darkness!

Jesus is the light of the world, and we are to reflect Him in the dark world that we live in today! Are we revealing Jesus? Are we showing off Jesus by the way that we live? Are we enlightening people to what it means to be a follower of Jesus?

Today, we need to be the Light of Jesus in our homes, church, and city! Lord, I’m gonna let my light shine for Jesus!
