In John 11, we see the raising of Lazarus from the dead. Jesus hears that Lazarus is sick and getting close to death. They wanted Jesus to come and heal Lazarus, Jesus’s friend.
John 11:4; Jesus said, “But when Jesus heard about it, He said, ‘Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.” Jesus already knew the will of God for Lazarus. That encourages me today that God has a plan for our lives! Nothing can hinder God’s plan for our lives.
Jeremiah 29:11; “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
We may not know the whys of God’s plans, just as Lazarus’s sisters, Mary and Martha, did not. All they saw was that Lazarus was sick and that he was dying.
How many of us are the same way? We see what is happening to us right now. We walk by sight, situations, and the storms of life, instead of walking by faith and trust in a God who is with us and has a plan for us.
Today, we need to walk by faith and not by sight! Lord, help me to remember that – “He that began a good work in me shall bring it to the day of completion!”
