UNIFFIED – Cebu Chapter Holds Virtual Induction Ceremony, Marks Official Launch

CEBU, Philippines — The United Federation of Fil‑Am Educators (UNIFFIED), Inc. – Cebu Chapter celebrated its official launch with a virtual induction ceremony attended by educators and leaders from both the Philippines and the United States. The event marked an important milestone for the organization as it continues expanding its network of Filipino educators worldwide.

The oath of office was administered by Dr. Ronie L. Mataquel, co‑founder of UNIFFIED, Inc. Leading the newly inducted officers are Founding President Kit Coronel and Executive Vice President Renz Cedro, who both expressed their commitment to strengthening professional collaboration and community service in the region. In her acceptance message, Coronel outlined the chapter’s vision centered on service, leadership, and innovation in education.

The program was moderated by Sir Flo Coronel, Public Relations Director of UNIFFIED, Inc., and Chairman of the UNIFFIED Cooperative, who introduced the speakers and guided the ceremony’s flow. The event opened with warm messages from Dr. Catalina Suerte, Executive Vice President of UNIFFIED, Inc., and Dr. Mataquel, who both emphasized the importance of empowering educators and building strong regional chapters.

An inspirational address was delivered by Dr. Rosalinda S. Bajolo, National President (US) of UNIFFIED, Inc., who congratulated the Cebu officers and encouraged them to champion programs that uplift teachers and learners alike. Leaders from other chapters also joined the ceremony, including Dr. Cora Flores of UNIFFIED Houston, Texas, and Dr. Mabeth Bibe Alvarado of UNIFFIED Los Angeles–Orange County. Both extended their congratulations and pledged support for the Cebu chapter’s future initiatives.

The induction concluded with an invitation to the UNIFFIED International Summit, scheduled for August 14–16, 2026, in Cagayan de Oro City. The summit will bring together members from across the globe to strengthen collaboration, share best practices, and celebrate the growing impact of UNIFFIED in advancing Filipino educators worldwide.
