The concert headlines famed Cecile Azarcon-Inocentes, Philippines’ legendary and highly- acclaimed songwriter and singer. Her music has been recorded and sang by Filipino and international artists. Maestro Robert Shroder will join her; he is resident conductor of the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra in California, committed to enriching Filipino culture through orchestra music.

Also performing in the fundraising event is the US-based Pinoy band Sounds of Manila, a nine-member band that has successfully carved a niche in the US with their music. The concert organizers have carefully vetted all the musical performers who share their talents for the audience’s listening pleasure.

Alay Kay Inay is UPAAA’s project to benefit UPAAA, UPAA Arizona, and UPAA New Jersey scholarship programs. The event follows their Valentine’s Virtual Concert, which the association previously organized together with UPAA chapters in the East and West coasts. At this month’s event, UPAAA pays tribute to special women – mothers.

Anyone wishing to dedicate one of the songs to be performed during the concert to honor mothers (Lola, Tita, Inay, Mama, Mons) may write an email to UPAAA upaainamerica@gmail.com. A 30-sec or 60-second video clip honoring one’s mother will be shown during the concert. The link to the titles and lyrics of the featured songs is on the event page in Eventbrite.

A song dedication costs $25.00; 49 remaining slots are available until May 5, 2021. Video dedication, which costs $50, ended Apr. 27 but 28 slots may still be available. Please email upaainamerica@gmail.com with your name, Mother’s name, and dedication if interested.
