We are the jar, but the glory of the Lord is what is inside of us as followers of Jesus. We are just the container for the Holy Spirit’s presence! What is in our jar? What is really inside of us?
Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4: 6- 7, “For God, who said, ‘Let there be light in darkness,’ has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, BUT we are JARS containing the great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is not from ourselves.”
Life is not about us! We are just the jar, container, the vessel that holds the presence and glory of God. It is never about the jar; it is about what is in the jar. If we have the presence and glory of the Lord in our lives, then Jesus will be seen through the jar.
Whatever is in the jar determines the jar’s value. If Jesus is in our lives, then we should reflect what is in the jar. Whatever is inside of us will come out in our speech, our attitudes, our decisions, our relationships, our habits, and our actions.
We are a fragile jar without Him, but with Him I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Lord, fill my jar with Your Presence today!
